Mickey Mantle's gets 2-week stay of execution

Eyewitness NewsNEW YORK (WABC) -- The battle to keep the restaurant named after Yankees legend Mickey Mantle will go into extra innings.

The slugger's original partner, who left the business seven years ago, says he has raised $71,000 from investors.

That's enough to keep the Central Park South eatery open for another two weeks.

Bill Leiderman wants to raise another $400,000 to pay back rent and get the restaurant back on its feet.
