De Blasio warns against cutting after-school programs

  Eyewitness NewsNEW YORK (WABC) -- Public Advocate Bill de Blasio warns that New York City will pay much more, long term, if it goes ahead with Mayor Michael Bloomberg's plan to cut child care and after-school programs.

De Blasio is releasing a study that questions the mayor's plan to slash more than $175 million from the budget for children's services.

More than 94,000 children rely on city-sponsored care.
