Manhattan getting wheelchair-friendly taxis

  Eyewitness NewsNEW YORK (WABC) -- A new wheelchair-friendly taxi is hitting the streets of Manhattan.

It's called the MV1, and it was recently approved for use as a taxi in New York City.

The MTA is field-testing the vehicles for its Access-A-Ride program.

The MV1 holds up to six passengers, including wheelchairs and motorized scooters.
