New weight loss drug Qsymia hits the market

  Eyewitness NewsNEW YORK (WABC) -- The new weight loss drug Qsymia has hit the market.

The cost of the medication ranges from $4 to $6 a day, depending on the dosage strength.

Patients who take it for a year could drop nearly 9 percent of their body weight.

The pill targets brain signals that drive people to overeat.

It's FDA approved for patients who are overweight or obese and who suffer from high blood pressure, diabetes or high cholesterol.
